Dying dark hair a bright colour?

I have longish, dark brown hair and I want to dye it Purple red. I would like it to be bright but I really don't want to bleach my hair. I am 14 and have dyed my hair lots of times before, but it is quite damaged already so is there an alternative to bleach. I have my hair dyes at the hairdressers by the way.
