Did Queen Elizabeth 1 favour the Islam to Catholicism?

She hated catholicism - that's for sure. But then the Pope did arrange for the King of Spain to send his catholic army to invade England and convert us back to catholicism, so I guess she was justified. Good job they didn't succeed. Beaten by a far superior English navy and bad weather.
